Rhetoric Interpretation Of The Complement Of The State On Modern Chinese

“complement”is one of syntactic components with Chinese characteristics, has long been a hotresearch on Modern Chinese grammar.“complement”, as a special component, is not only complicated anddiversified in its meaning, but also related with each other. Its construction form can be simple or complex.In the existing Chinese grammar study, related research is very rich, but for the study of the complement ofthe state, academia has not yet reached an agreement.This article is from the combination of grammar andrhetoric point of view to do the rhetoric interpretation of the situation of complement.Among the contemporary novels, Mo Yan’s language is with Chinese characteristics.The research onMo Yan’s novels are mainly concentrated in the angle of literature and art, the works of linguistics analysisis not enough, especially the study of rhetoric angle still remain in the shallow layer of speechlevel.Because of this, this article mainly to the Mo Yan novella collection “joy” as the data source, from thecombination of grammar and rhetoric perspective, systematically analysis of these corpus in thecomplement of the state.The article is divided into four parts. The first part mainly introduces the currentresearch on the complement of the state and the novels of Mo Yan. The second part discusses the definitionof the complement of the state,which includes its connotation and the comparison between complement inChinese use and English use. In this article that the circumstances of complement is descriptive and containsubjective emotion.The third part discusses the different types of the complement of state, analysis from theperspective of structure and words, points out that the complement of the state reflects Chinesecharacteristics.The fourth part is on the meaning of rhetoric,it points out that the “joy” in the complementof the state about the use of speech,and focuses on the characteristics of the complement of subjectivityembodied rhetorical function.Through the discussion of the above four parts, we will find out the uniquevalue of rhetoric use of the complement of the state in Mo’s novel.
