Business Chinese is a language for special uses, with its specific teachingpurpose、teaching objects and teaching needs. Case method in business Chinese is arising tendence in recent years, which has given birth to business Chinese textbooks.This article presents a comparative study of《Business Chinese for Success: RealCases from Real Companies》and《Reading Courses of Business Chinese Cases》,which respectively focus on textbook structure、text、vocabulary、exercise andbusiness knowledge. This comparative study aims to generalize advantages anddisadvantages of two textbooks, as well as the specialties of business Chinese casetextbook comparing to general business Chinese textbook, so as to discover the rulesof designing business Chinese case textbook and offer relevant suggestions.This article is divided into four parts. The Introduction Part gives the definitionof business Chinese, and introduces features of business Chinese case teaching andreasons of choosing the two textbooks. Literatures including the designing theoriesand research approaches are also involved.The Second Part refers to the comparative study of two textbooks. The wholecomparison focuses on teaching object、material resources and textbook structure. Thetext comparison is comprised of warming-up stage、main text form and text term. Thevocabulary comparison includes words quantity、words tagging and business propernoun. Exercise and business knowledge comparison are presented in the end of thispart.The Third Part provides some suggestions of how to design、choose and usebusiness Chinese case textbook.The Fourth Part gives a generalization of the whole article.
