Study On Uyghur Translation Of The Chinese Words About "Dragon"

Dragon occupies an important position in Chinese traditional culture. Throughout theChinese history, the imaginary animal " Dragon" has been used as a totem of the China’s spiritand cultural heritage, deeply penetrated into all aspects of Chinese society. In Chinese, thewords about dragon, mostly express praise, beauty,authority and a symbol of good luck. TheUighur word "ajdiha" Although implies the same imagenary animal as in Chinese word“Long”,the" ajdiha" in Uighur expresses the opposite characterization sometimes. In order topromote the spread of Chinese dragon culture and deepen the positive dimension of culturalunderstanding of the meaning of the dragon and recognition, this paper attempts to do someanalysis on the cultural meaning of Chinese " Dragon" and try on some translation methods,and put forward some suggestions and the author’s views.Due to the different living environment, social psychology, and other traditional customsand religious beliefs, the same thing will often form a different culture, and different culturalconnotations also affect the understanding and use of language. Language carries culture,specific cultures attached on the specific language, and thus the specific vocabulary andculture have different connotations in many cases. Their real significance comes from thedifferent Han-Uighur ethnic cultural backgrounds. Animal Words as symbolic words, oftencome with a strong cultural features and far-reaching social history, its greatest feature isexpressed in an abstract sense through the animal form, habits and other features, objectsfigurative meaning by expressing subjective feelings. The Uighur “ajdiha” and the Chinesedragon,in cultural meaning, are quite different. This paper on the word " dragon" works oncultural connotation of Chinese “Dragon” and make a detailed analysis, and in accordancewith the "dragon" compare the the meaning in two cultures, the analysis of the currentpolicies related to the translation of dragon, and put forward my own suggestions and viewsin order to better promote the spread of Chinese dragon culture, deepen cultural understandingof "dragon" with positive implications. This paper has four chapters, the first chapter is about topics to talk about the purposeand significance of the research topic at home and abroad, breakthroughs problems, such asresearch and innovation content. The second chapter of the main contents of the dragon anddragon culture overview of the impact of this extensive background chapter of this papermainly discusses the worship of the dragon, the origin of dragon culture, the dragon culture,the dragon and the dragon culture of profound cultural meaning. The third chapter is the corepart of the paper, the main contents of words about dragon and Uyghur translator with thedragon, the specific content,the words with the dragon phrases, idioms (idioms, proverbs,idioms, proverbs, twisters) and so its Uighur translation skills.The fourth chapter is aboutthe specific translation skills of the Chinese word of “Long”and authors points about theshortages of those translation skills and suggestions about improvement. and finally there isthe appendix, the translation of words about the Dragon that appear in this paper.
