Interpersonal trust was a generate expectation to the reliability of another person’s words, oral orwritten presentation, was the foundation of establishing a good interpersonal relationships. Interpersonaltrust can directly affect high school student’s spirit of cooperation, coexistence and harmoniousinterpersonal relationships, it plays an important role in high school student’s mental health the formationof personality and sociability. This study based on the discussion of the characteristics of interpersonal trustand influence factors, in order to grasp its rule and provide evidence for formulating effective measures toimprove interpersonal trust.On the basis of comprehensive of previous studies, this study explored the relationship betweenthe high school student’s attachment and interpersonal trust, and investigated its action mechanism-themediating role of self-compassion. Parents and peer attachment questionnaire, the Chinese version of theNeff’s self-compassion scale, and interpersonal trust scale revised in this study were as research tools, tosurvey665high school students. The data analysis results showed that:(1) Revised interpersonal trust scale contains three dimensions: trust of strangers, the sense ofresponsibility and commitment, the questionnaire has a good reliability and validity, the internalconsistency coefficient of total questionnaire was0.702, every fitting indexes of confirmatory factoranalysis met the requirements of psychometrics.(2) The difference of high school students’ interpersonal trust and its each dimension in thedemographic variable embodied in: on the discipline, the sense of responsibility of science students wassignificantly higher than liberal arts students; on whether the one-child, the trust of strangers of non-onlychild was significantly higher than the one-child; there were no significant differences in gender, grade andorigin of students.(3) High school student’s attachment has a significant positive relation to interpersonal trust andits dimensions---the sense of responsibility and commitment; self-compassion has a significant positiverelation to interpersonal trust and its dimensions---the trust of strangers, sense of responsibility andcommitment; high school student’s attachment has a significant positive relation to self-compassion. (4) High school student’s attachment has a significant positive prediction to interpersonal trust,after the join of self-compassion, the predictive power of high school student’s attachment to interpersonaltrust was reduced. The statistical analysis showed that the affection of high school student’s attachment tointerpersonal trust was through self-compassion, self-compassion has partial mediation effect between highschool student’s attachment and interpersonal trust.
