As a sun-rising industry to enhance national soft power andstrengthen cultural influence, animation industry attracts comprehensiveattention. China’s animation industry is developing rapidly. But there arestill many problems. The overall level of international competitiveness isfar away behind those leading countries in animation industry. AcademicResearches on international competitiveness of animation industry arealso rare. This thesis interdisciplinary integrates theories&research methodsfrom economics、management、sociology、statistics、etc, start fromanimation industry subjectivity, combined with the theory of internationalcompetitiveness, use both quantitative and qualitative research methods, analyzes both competitive factors and results of animation industry, buildthe theoretical conceptual model and evaluation system of the animationindustry. All this enrichthe content of competitiveness theory as well asdevelop the competitiveness research of animation industry. Throughempirical research, we are able to understand the current situation ofChina’s animation industry development status, clarify competitiveadvantages and disadvantages, and make suggestions. Generally, this study has great practical significance on promoting the development ofChina’s animation industry, meeting the growing market demands, andenhancing national culture soft power. This thesis can be divided into six chapters: The first chapterintroduces the research background and significance, clearly researchcontents and methods; The second chapter sorts out the existinginternational competitiveness and animation industry internationallycompetitive research, reviews relevant research situation, puts forwardthe direction of this study to explore; The third chapter build a theoreticalframework for the evaluation of animation industry internationalcompetitiveness. And then establishthe animation industry internationalcompetitiveness evaluation system using grey statistical methodandAHP(the analytic hierarchy process); The fourth chapter is theempirical analysis of the selected country such as U.S., Japan, SouthKorea, Britain, France, India and China. Through cross-comparison, weintend to understand the actual level and disparities of internationalcompetitiveness of animation industries among these countries; The fifthchapter determine the strengths and weaknesses indicators ofinternational competitiveness of China’s animation industry, indicate thebest path to enhance the international competitiveness of China’sanimation industry based on predictive simulation, and then give sixstrategies to enhance the weaknesses index of China’s animation industry. The innovation of this study mainly reflected in the following aspects:First, build the animation industry international competitivenessevaluation index, which solved the pertinence of the existing culturalindustry international competitiveness evaluation index system that cannot accurately reflect the actual situation of competitiveness; Second, theevaluation system has high reliability and operability owing to the greystatistical and AHP methods used in this study; Thirdly, all the objectiveindicators data are from authoritative organizations such as The WorldBank, UNESCO, WEF, IMF, national bureau of statistics of China, etc.,for thosenon-quantifiable indicators, we use qualitative analysis, all thissufficiently ensures accuracy and authority of the indicator. Meanwhile, through nondimensionalization, this study solved the problem come withthe different dimensions of the indicators; Fourthly, this study indicate thebest path to enhance the international competitiveness of China’sanimation industry based on predictive simulation, and give six strategiesto enhance the weaknesses index of China’s animation industry on thisbasis.
