Report Of Consecutive Interpretation For Training Workshops

As exchanges between China and the rest of the world increase, more and morecommunication or experience-sharing sessions take place in the form of training, eitheroffered by foreign experts who impart knowledge or skills to Chinese participants, or byChinese experts sharing China’s experience accumulated from its own development.Based on the practical experience of interpreting for more than20training sessions,the author selected four typical interpreting assignments in an effort to summarize thepreparation, general interpreting process, decisive factors that have a bearing on the effectof interpretation, and the characteristics of training workshops. This report also includeschallenges and coping strategies, as well as a reflection on where should be improved inthe future in order to strengthen interpreting ability and enhance the communicationbetween trainer and participants.
