Ceramic pillows were taken as practical objects or funerary objects around the north and south area China during Song and Jin and Yuan dynasties, especially the Cizhou kiln type’s ceramic pillows stored as much volume. Characters-pillows can be divided into three development stages according to research. Leaf-shaped,ingot-shape, bean-shape, and oval should be popular in the Northern Song dynasty. Auspicious words and poems are mainly contents; Octagonal, Ruyishape, rectangular, and oval are popular in Jin and the Southern Song dynasties. The name of kilns and poems are mainly contents,and long poems proportions increase, Characters written with ink appeared in this period; Rectangular are popular in Yuan dynasty. Poems and Qu Fu are mainly contents except for the name of kilns.Contents of characters-pillows can be divided into record the times and events,the name of kilns,auspicious words and aphorisms,poems and QU FU four categories.There are plenty of Kiln’s names including"张家造"and"张大家枕"and"李家造",such as"彰滨逸人制"and"滏源王家造"and"相地张家造"only existed in the Yuan dynasty.They are important informations about the development of the porcelain industry.Range of literary history study is extended by poems and QU FU.The text analyse the background of the prosperity and cultural factors through political, economic, ideology and cultural three aspects.
