On The Translation Of Network News From The Perspective Of Zero Translation Theory

With an increasing communication between Chinese and Western cultures, network news translation from English to Chinese is playing an important role in the information era. However, many obstacles emerged during the translating process of network news translation duo to the incommensurability of language and culture, especially cultural factors. Current studies of network news translation are either in macroscopic methodological view or microscopic translation techniques.In this case, this paper takes some of the news reports from the cultural section on the official website of Newsweek as the corpus of the research. It tries to explore the influences of cultural factors on network news translation and the application of absolute zero translation and relative zero translation methods from the perspective of zero translation theory.Based on the previous studies, this paper applies zero translation theory to Network English News translation, and comes to a conclusion, through network news translation practice, that zero translation, which takes an attitude of equal cultural communication, has theoretical and practical significance on network news translation. Meanwhile, some contradictories in translation studies can be solved by zero translation theory to some extent.
