The principal meaning of existential sentences is to refer to the existence of something, or the presence of something in a particular place or time. It takes the following form:locative or temporal "words+verb+noun" phrases. Existential sentence in Chinese is a particular syntactical structure, therefore, the aim of this study is to do comparative analysis on existential sentence structure between Chinese and Thai language.For Thai students, especially the beginner learner, Chinese existential sentence is not easy to learn. Hence, this study tries to analyze the understanding of Thai beginner level student on five basic pattern of Chinese existential sentences, compare the basic structure of these two languages existential sentences, and propose Chinese existential sentences teaching suggestions. Finally, we hope that the information from this study helps to provide additional insight into Chinese grammar teaching, especially towards Thai students.This paper is divided into four chapters:First chapter:Significance of the study, research methodology, data sources and literature reviews.Second chapter:Brief introduction to five basic patterns of Chinese existential sentences and comparison on existential sentences between Chinese and Thai language.Third chapter:Survey and error analysis on Chinese existential sentence acquisition of Thai beginner level students.Fourth chapter:Teaching strategies and suggestions on Chinese grammar teaching, especially existential sentence teaching.Fifth chapter:Conclusion...
