This is a report on the translation of Chapter 4 of Blueprint for Project Recovery-A Project Management Guide, a book written by Ronald B. Cagle, the Principle of the management consulting company Modern-Management. The translation of this work is considered non-literary translation, or we can generally call it the Translation of Practical Texts. It is more scientific than literary translation, requiring more veracity and preciseness. Therefore, it is a great challenge for the translator to accurately recreate all the management theories, methods, concepts and professional terms of the source text in the target text. What is more, the differences of the reading habits between English and Chinese make it difficult for the target text to cater for the reading habits of Chinese readers. To solve these difficulties, this translation program resorts to the Equivalence Theory of Eugene A. Nida as its general guiding principle to analyze the source text, determining the general translating direction of the target text, and then it further uses some other corresponding translation skills to tackle those specific problems. This report is altogether composed of four chapters. Chapter one is the introduction to the translation program, including its origin, structure and significance. Chapter two gives a brief introduction to the background of the source text, including its author, edition and main content; Chapter three is concerned with the quality control, including the difficulties in translation, the selection of the translation theories and skills, and the detailed use of these translation skills; Chapter four is the conclusion of the report, including the enlightenment and lessons got from the translation program.
