With the improvement of people’s living conditions, people pay more attention to education. The speech about education becomes the focus, especially the research about how to improve students’ abilities. Nowadays, there are many problems in the English teaching. This lecture is about whether extensive reading as the carrier would have an obvious effect on the students’ English level or not, which is of great importance in English teaching.This report is on the author’s performance in each step of interpreting simulation, with the aim of exploring feasible approaches to improve in interpreting quality. This report summarizes and illustrates task description, process description, pre-task preparation, and case analysis in the process of simulated interpreting. Based on the interpreter’s practice, the author concludes some of the interpreting strategies applied in the practice include extension, addition, omission, conversion. At the same time, the author acquires useful experience, including taking adequate preparations, enough background information and vocabulary, good physical and psychological state.By means of this simulated consecutive interpreting practice as well as rethinking of the interpreting process, the interpreter regards practice of simulated consecutive interpreting as an important way for students majoring in interpreting to learn, practice and study, and also an important channel of more training chances for consecutive interpreters. Meanwhile, it is hoped that this report could provide readers with serviceable suggestions and be helpful to improve the interpreter’s professional skills and ability as well.
