With the advance of globalization,international relations have become increasingly closer and international conferences have given all nations a voice as the main channel.Among them,the UN General Assembly is one of the typical.The UN General Assembly is the most extensive and authoritative comprehensive international conference at present.The speeches delivered by the delegates at the general debate often show the most representative challenges and problems of the world today.As the most common form of interpretation in today's international conferences,the significant role of simultaneous interpreting in the process of cooperation and exchange is becoming increasingly evident.This practice report on E-C simultaneous interpreting is based on the speech delivered by Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney at the 72 nd General Assembly General Debate,which aims to find the appropriate solution through difficulties and problems in the interpreting process to enhance the quality of simultaneous interpretation.This report is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is task description,introducing task background and task requirements.The second chapter describes the simulated interpreting process,including pre-interpreting preparation,interpreting process and post-interpreting assessment.The third and fourth chapters are key parts of the report.The third chapter analyzes encountered difficulties and problems in thesimulated process of simultaneous interpreting.Based on interpreting tactics,the fourth chapter proposes the corresponding solutions.Despite the limitations of simulated simultaneous interpretation,the author hopes to find available solutions to improve the interpreting level by analyzing the difficulties and problems in this practice.
