The Yang Bo ping tone scripture Tai Ping Chun provides a valuable reference to study the development of Zhuang drama.Tai Ping Chun is an ancient book in Zhuang characters, recording Zhuang language in Emperor Kangxi’s period. The vast majority of words in the book are borrowed from Han language, and they can be fluently read in Zhuang language of Tianlin County. The scripture annotates Zhuang words of abrupt tone with Chinese characters of fourth tone, which indicates the existence of ancient Chinese.Meanwhile, the reciprocal annotations of lax tones and abrupt tones, /-m/s and /-n/s show the great influence of late antiquity of Chinese. The difference between old loanwords and late ones is apparent, which is, in other words, the old should be borrowed from Ancient Ping Dialect that disappear currently while the late mainly borrowed from mandarin of southwest Chinese.Lyrics of the ten songs in Tai Ping Chun indirectly describe the Zhuang people’s life in the 17 th century, containing lots of Zhuang culture and information exchanged between Zhuang and another nationalities’ culture.Tai Ping Chun comprehensively uses various types of rhetoric to improve its art connotation. Apart from metaphor, hyperbole etc., and rhythm is also its distinguished part. Three features of the rhythm are: the variety of rhyme, the rotation of level and oblique tones at the last word of each sentence, and the strictness that level tones should only correspond with level tones while oblique with oblique.
