Language is the carrier of culture, and it’s also an important part of culture. The two are inseparable. It’s necessary to comprehend its culture if language learners want to learn it well. It has already been a consensus that we should combine language knowledge and language skills with the import of cultural knowledge to teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The cultural course is an integral part of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, especially in advanced stage. It can not only provide Chinese learners the necessary cultural knowledge, but also strengthen their understanding about the Chinese way of thinking and traditional customs and develop their awareness of inter-cultural communication. If a Chinese teacher can use more teaching methods and effective achievement test for cultural course teaching, it will not only promote the quality and effect, but also be a great help to improving students’ Chinese communicative ability.This thesis is based on the existing relevant academic research about cultural course at home and abroad, and it explores the issues about teaching mode and achievement test of cultural courses. And according to the author’s teaching practice in Lanzhou University, it tries to find new things on teaching mode and achievement tests and then provide some advice and experience for Chinese teachers.
