Seminar on China-ASEAN Economic and Trade Cooperation for Journalists was established under the calling of the ever-increasing development of China-ASEAN cooperation. By now, it has been successfully concluded for four sessions and become a platform for journalists and press officers to have an in-depth understanding of the fruits yielded through China-ASEAN cooperation.Seminar on China-ASEAN Economic and Trade Cooperation for Journalists 2014, sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of China and organized by China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat, was aimed at assisting the ASEAN press officers and journalists to know more about the social and economic development of China and the momentum of economic cooperation between China and ASEAN. Through various lectures and fieldtrips of this event, journalists can produce more accurate and detailed report about China.The author was blessed with the opportunity to be the interpreter of the fieldtrips to Yulin and Wuzhou. The overall schedule consisted of two parts, namely, round table meeting with the local government officials and on-site inspection to some recommended projects. The author independently completed the interpreting task. For the purpose of post-interpretation analysis, the author recorded the meeting on her recorder.The contents of this task was diversified and unique, hence it was of great value for analysis. This paper mainly was constituted by task description, preparation, case study combining related theories and interpreting assessment. Under the guidance of Effort Model of Gile, the author was managed to figure out coping strategies to deal with unexpected partially improvisational speeches and ASEAN accents in consecutive interpreting. Moreover, the author was also endeavored to find out an anticipation method with the help of the Interpretive Theory of Translation. Finally, the paper came to a conclusion. The author hopes that this paper can provide some enlightenment and inspiration for her fellow practitioners.
