Abstract:Because of the linguistic differences and ways of expression in Chinese and Cameroonian Language, Cameroonian students usually find a lot of difficulties learning the Chinese language. Most of the students are not able to creatively combine the words that they have learned. Through the research we have found that Cameroonian students don’t comprehend the use of the words that they have learned, they often overlook the coherence of the words and separate the organic connection of the language chunks. Research on application of task based teaching method in the teaching of Chinese language chunks will help Cameroonian students to quickly improve their Chinese level.The present study is divided into five chapters, each chapter comprehensively discuss the application of task based teaching method in teaching Chinese language chunks. The first chapter is the introduction. We introduced the meaning and the purpose of our research and described the methods employed. We determined the direction of this work through the collation and research on the related literature. The second chapter is task based teaching method and language chunks. This part describes the relevant theories of task based teaching method in the world, describes the chunk theory knowledge in Britain and united states, and ascertains the development of the study of Chinese language chunks. The third chapter is the teaching of Chinese language chunks. It looks into the several concepts of language chunks.It is based on the classification of the differences between the function and the length of Chinese language chunks and it describes the current situation of its use in language chunk teaching. The fourth part discuss task based teaching method and the teaching of Chinese language chunks. The chapter present the actual and practical situation of teaching methods to Cameroonian students’recounts the roles of the task based teaching methods and the role of Chinese language chunks teaching, focuses on the design and discusses the combination of the teaching effects. The fifth part is conclusion.
