Report On Chinese Translation Of EN894-3(2000E)

At the age of information and modularization, industries are changing so fast, andmore and more enterprises have realized the importance of absorbing advancedinternational standards. We should continuously adhere to the objective of learningfrom others’ strong points and achieving mutual development. It means we completestandards of our own while using some international standards for reference. Thetranslation quality affects the quality of an enterprise, and the translation ofinternational standards occupies an important position.Based on the translation of EN894-3(2000E), this translation practice reportprovides introduction, research and summary of each stage in the translation process.Four major parts are illustrated, namely, the task description, the procedure description,the case analysis and the summery&conclusion. Part task description and proceduredescription provide an overall approach about the task, which mainly includes thereasons for choosing the translation material, where the translation material isoriginated, textual analysis of the translation material and details of completing thistask. The main part of this report is the case analysis, in which an initial research andanalysis is made on the strategies and skills of mechanical English translation. In thesummary&conclusion part, the author summarizes her personal feelings and gains. Atthe end of this report, the original text, the translated text and the relevant term list areprovided. The author sincerely hopes this report can benefit the readers.
