Chinese characters as a specific part of Chinese have an assignable reaction. Learning Chinese characters is learning Chinese; if people want to master Chinese, they have to learn Chinese characters. Character education plays a very important role in teaching of Chinese as a foreign language, but it did not attract enough attention. There are still problems, for example, lack of independence, unfocused and lack of scientific, so Characters-teaching has been an important and difficult topic in the research of teaching of Chinese as a foreign language. In order to make the characters teaching more rationalization and scientific, it is imperative to conduct in-depth scientific research in the teaching of Chinese characters, and with particular attention to the research under three cross-cutting role "non-Chinese characters cultural circle, non-Chinese environment and comprehensive course".This paper adopted the research method of case study, Illustrated by the example of comprehensive courses in Confucius Institute in Munich, Germany, based on previous research on the teaching of Chinese characters. Through one year’s teaching practice, the author explores out a mode, which is more systematic, feasible and suitable for overseas Chinese characters’teaching in comprehensive lessons. During this period, the author keep records of teaching effectiveness, reflect and adjust teaching strategies timely, combine the individual practice and teaching research together, and finally make several suggestions for the teaching of Chinese characters. The author hope that through this research to find ways to optimize the teaching of Chinese characters and solve problems of teaching of Chinese characters effectively, improve students’interest and learning effect under "non-Chinese characters cultural circle, non-Chinese environment and comprehensive course", in order to achieve the purpose of improving the author’s own teaching methods and quality, but also providing reference for the related teaching and research of Chinese characters.
