A Translation Project Report Of The Chapter One Of Democracy,Pluralism&Political Theory Under The Skopos Theory

This is a project report on translation of "The challenge to pluralist theory", the First Chapter of William E. Connolly’s Democracy, Pluralism&Political Theory, under the Skopos Theory. This report is based on the German translation theorist Hans Vermeer’s Skopos Theory. This report plans to systematically summarize the translation practice of "The challenge to pluralist theory" and study the application of the Skopos Theory in the translation practice. Based on the summary and review of the translation practice, this report summarizes a series of practical translation strategies.This project report on translation mainly contains four parts, the first part of which is about the introduction of the backgrounds of this translation project, including the significance, sources and reporting structure of the translation project. The second part is the introduction of the research background, including the introduction of the theoretical framework and the source text background. The later includes the introduction of William E. Connolly’s background, the original version of Democracy, Pluralism&Political Theory, the content of Democracy, Pluralism&Political Theory and the first chapter of this book. The third part is the introduction of translation difficulties and the translation method. The later includes the preparation of the project translation, the difficulty in the translation, and illustrates translation methods used in translation. Last but not the least, the translation report will conclude the enlightenment and lessons as well as the problems needed to be solved.
