This project report is written based on the translation of Seduce Me at Sunrise which is assigned by the translator’s professor. The translator translated Chapter 4 to Chapter 10, altogether more than 20, 000 English characters. The project lasted for two months, and the translation process had four stages: the analysis and preparation, the initial draft, modification and final version. On the basis of Peter Newmark’s approaches of semantic translation and communicative translation and in the perspective of the characteristics of English best-selling novels, the translator mainly analyses and solves the difficulties met in the process of translation which are non-English expressions, figures of speech and psychological activities. Besides, the summarized techniques used during the practical translation, such as four-character phrase, division and combination, addition and omission and shift, are also given reasonable explanations in this report.
