Objective:Investigate college students’ status of the childhood abuse experience, including physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse and neglect and emotional neglect body,understand the students’ experience of childhood abuse and levels of self-esteem and mental health in the future relations between the factors. By using the method of self-esteem training for college students to intervene with child abuse experience,psychological intervention study on college students’ level of self-esteem and mental health.Method:Adopting cluster sampling method, make 3052 college students of a medical university to do Childhood Abuse Questionnaire(CTQ-SF), Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale(SES) and Mental Health Test(MHT), make the childhood abuse experience as independent variable, the mental health level as dependent variable, self-esteem as intermediary variable to do intermediary effect inspection.Result:(1) In this college students’ sample, the incidence of child abuse is very high:emotional neglect is 80.44%, the body ignore is 70.00%, emotional abuse is 64.80%,sexual abuse and physical abuse is 17.38% and 22.58%.(2) There are gender differences and rural differences on College students’ child abuse experience.(3) Family factors of child abuse play a significant role that cannot be neglected,which need to arouse people’s attention.(4) Self-esteem plays a partial intermediary role between child abuse and mentalhealth, and the indirect effect accounting for 50% of the total effect.Conclusion:1. The incidence of child abuse in this college students sample is high, different gender and different living places can make different Child Abuse phenomenon.2. Family factors on the development of child abuse play a major role that cannot be neglected, which need to arouse people’s attention.3. In college students’ self-esteem partial intermediary role between child abuse and mental health.
