Pre-Qin Chinese personal pronouns are in quantity, classification is different, theusage is complex, increasingly high degree of concern by scholars. However, in the studyof pre-Qin Chinese grammar, personal pronouns as attributive whether need to add "之" toundertake the center word attracted our attention. This paper will take the "Analects ofConfucius""Mencius"and"Zuo Zhuan" three books as the study of language material,through a comparative analysis of the personal pronouns and nouns as attributives, todetermine the personal pronouns are used as attributive add "之" or not. The study willhelp us to further improve the ancient Chinese pronoun system, at the same time, will laidthe foundation for using the personal pronouns in ancient Chinese accurately.This paper mainly investigate personal pronouns in "Analects of Confucius""Mencius " and "Zuo Zhuan" three books as the research object, and then analysis thecharacteristic of personal pronouns and nouns as attribute, as a result,they are in thecontrast, then we can find the conclusion of the pre-Qin Chinese personal pronouns asattributive whether add to"之". We will also use the method of literature research,comparative and analysis, static description and dynamic combination of descriptionmethod, frequency statistics method to find the rules, the final draw reliable conclusions.Through our investigation and finally the following conclusions can be drawn:Pre-Qin Chinese attributive nouns, noun and noun often connect with "之, and whenthe personal pronouns modify nouns, there are rarely found "之" between it and the centerword. The nouns as subjects and connect predicate,the phrase of subject and predicatewith "之" often appear. In the word structure of "所", nouns and the word structure of "所"add to"之", and then personal pronouns cannot add to "之" with the word structure of "所". Visible, personal pronouns used as the attribute and add to "之" is very lately.Comparison with the Han Wei and Six Dynasties, the personal pronouns tend not toadd "之" in Pre-Qin Chinese, whether in front of the verb phrases or noun phrases, or theword structure of "所", after the Six Dynasties, personal pronouns as attribute with "之" is often seen.In view of this, personal pronouns as attribute generally do not add "之" in pre-QinChinese, and with "之" is a rare case.
