Abstract:Pronunciation is the fundamental section of Chinese learning. The learning of pronunciation has a considerable effect in communication and interaction. Tones, as one of the components of Chinese syllable, are applied to identify the different meaning and context. Hence, tones play a significant role in delivering various messages. As most of other languages in the world, Korean is a language without tones. This makes tones learning becomes extremely difficult when South Korean students learning Chinese. Therefore, strengthening the pronunciation learning process has a significant influence in both of their future study and their confidence of learning Chinese.This article has explored the regular errors when South Korean Students leaning Chinese tones. The objective of this article is to summarize the characteristics and reasons of the regular errors mentioned above, furthermore, to provide the relevant teaching strategies and suggestions with regard to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of tones teaching methods.First, in order to fully understand the situation of the tones learning among South Korean students, this article has conducted mixed research methods including survey, interview, teaching material analysis, and pronunciation analysis. Secondly, the author summarized the traits of the South Korean students’tones pronunciation and then analyzed the reasonThere are various factors caused regular errors which generate during tone learning process, including interlingual transfer, intralingual transfer, learning environment and the teaching methods. At the end of this article, the writer summarized the previous findings and came up with four teaching strategies for future tone teaching guidance.
