With the rapid rise of China, the fever of Learning Chinese gradually spread to the world. People from all over the world’s desire to learn Chinese is becoming more and more intense. In order to teach Chinese better, Chinese language teaching research is getting more and more attention. In recent years, task-based teaching method in Chinese teaching has gain great attention and has been widely used, but usually for oral Chinese teaching, the research and application of other type classes especially reading class is not so popular. "Listening, speaking, reading and writing are four basic skills of language teaching, reading as one of the important component, which plays an important role in Chinese teaching. Since I have one year of Chinese teaching experience in a Philippine-Chinese school, therefore by presenting relevant teaching cases, elaborating on the task-based teaching the Chinese school Chinese reading class in Philippine-Chinese school. I try to find out how to make the task-based teaching method serve better in Chinese reading class in this paper.There are five sections in this article. The first part of introduction is mainly about why I selected this topic, its significances and research methods.Second part introduces the theory of the task-based teaching mode and related theory in Chinese reading classes of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The third part is to introduce the Philippines Iloilo Xinhua Institute of Chinese School where I taught Chinese Classes. Also some brief introduction about Philippines.The fourth part is implementation process of the task-based teaching method in the Philippines Iloilo Xinhua institute intermediate reading class. The fifth part is to analysis the results and feedback by taking questionnaire survey, classroom activity, class analysis in Iloilo Xinhua institute intermediate reading class. At last this paper summarized the advantages and difficulties during the implementation, and proposed the corresponding solution.The last part is the paper’s conclusion.
