This is a translation project report on the chapter 1-4 of Wild Rose(野ばら)by Japanese Female Writer Hayashi Mariko, the total original novel with the words 29,876. This is a popular novel which describes modern urban women’s emotional world and the life style. Hayashi Mariko is one of the most famous woman writer in contemporary Japanese, with the title of "Bestseller the queen". There is no official publication of the translation in domestic China yet. This translation practice report is mainly discuss and summarize the translation skills on the words and sentences of the excerption. Under the guidance of "functional equivalence" theory, to analysis, research the problems and summarizes the translation skills, to reproduce the source language’s culture connotation in the target language as much as possible.The report is divided into five parts. Chapter one is introduction; Chapter two is Translation task description, that is the background and the characteristic of the original fiction; Chapter three is the translation process description, including translated preparation, translation and after the translation issues; Chapter four is Translation case analysis, including vocabulary and sentence translation. Vocabulary analysis mainly from the polysemy, culture related words, abstract word. Sentences partially analyzed from complex long sentences, elliptical sentences, session Modal, free translation; Chapter five is translation practice summary, including translation experience and translation practice issues and considerations to be addressed. Among them, the fourth part is the core contents.
