| This is a translation project report which is based on A Cold War Turning Point translation. A Cold War Turning Point written by Chris Tudda is about the history of how Nixon pursued rapprochement with the PRC. The main theories applied in the report are dynamic equivalent translation theory and language variation theory. The report involves the difficulties encountered in the project as well as the solution.The report consists of the following five chapters:the first chapter is the project description. It gives brief introduction of the source text, the author and the significance of the project. The second chapter is about the preparation work and the difficulties encountered in the translation. The third chapter deals with the theories applied in the project and the application regarding the translation of operative text. The fourth chapter is about the gains derived from this translation project and the problems yet to be resolved. The fifth chapter is the summary and reflection of the whole project. |
