With the continuous development of China and enlarging attention to the international image and soft power of China, the career of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages is booming around the world. The author was lucky enough to be born in a great time and to be assigned as a one-year Chinese volunteer teacher in Serbia East Europe. During the process of teaching, the author found problems emerging from culture teaching. Recently there are a few of researches about Chinese teaching in Serbia. Therefore the author felt it’s her duty to study on country-specific culture teaching of Serbia.In help of literature research, this thesis gained theoretical support and guidance. First is a comprehensive description of Chinese teaching in Serbia and reasons to take Megatrend University as an example. The author got data and information from the students of Chinese Center Megatrend University via questionnaires. Combined comprehensive analysis of the previous information and data with the observation during teaching, the author found the problems in culture teaching of Serbia mainly in terms of four aspects. Firstly, problems of teachers: 1.lack understanding of learners’ languages and culture; 2.lack of communication with students and consciousness of culture teaching; 3.frequently changes of teachers made it difficult to support teaching in Serbia; 4.lack of support for local Chinese teachers in work and life. Secondly, problems on teaching: 1.problems on curriculum and lack of teaching program; 2.tough teaching environment; 3.outmoded teaching method and neglect of students’ activeness. Thirdly, problems on Chinese textbooks: 1.lack of country-specific textbooks of Serbia; 2 insufficient supports of Serbia Chinese teaching resources from Hanban. Fourthly, problems on Serbia students: 1.careless characters; 2.easyily to give up halfway in learning.To solve these problems, the author came up with countermeasures and suggestions. Firstly, for teachers: 1.to strengthen training for teachers; 2.to speed up building TWO PROCESSIONS OF CHINESE TEACHERS; 3.to keep self-examination and learning. Secondly, for teaching: 1.strengtheing communication between China and Serbia, and to deepen cooperation of education; 2. to make additions of culture teaching and pay attention to culture experience. Thirdly, for textbooks, to take country-specific textbook compilation seriously. Fourthly, for Serbia students, to deepen study on teaching objects and always believe students are the heart of teaching and learning; teachers have more communication with students to promote better understanding of each other.Hope the thesis could provide the latest information of Chinese teaching of Serbia, and offer effective countermeasures to improve culture teaching in Serbia.
