With the development of economy and society, "electric" is playing a more and more important role in people’s life, work and study, it is difficult for us to imagine what our life will be like if it is no power. This research focuses on the competency of CSG EHV Companies transmission staff. Through building these six key part staffs’ competency model, in order to assess the staffs’ competency effectively, and improve the work efficiency and security, reduce the occurrence of accident.The electric power industry mainly includes three parts: the electric power production, the basic construction of electric power, and electric multiply management. The power production according to its process can be divided into five aspects: generation, transmission, substation, distribution, electricity. Transmission department staff is mainly responsible for the operation and maintenance and live line work, live working needs the highest skill, and the biggest risk in the power position. The live working staff works in high pressure electric field, so the technical and psychological quality requirements are very high. This paper carried out the research of the competency of transmission six key staff positions of CSG EHV Transmission Companies. Analysis on the competency of six key staff positions, construct the corresponding competency model and to verify the model and draw relevant conclusions.This paper adopts a variety of research methods of literature review, questionnaire survey method, interview method, event measurement analysis method in the study, in the study of building analysis model of the study on the competency of employees in high voltage power transmission, make up the domestic blank of competency research field in EHV transmission staff. In the specific research, initially extracted the competency of each position through behavioral event interviews and thematic analysis, then ask those outstanding staff who have received the interviews to evaluate the importance of competency, delete the low score project, and form the competency pre questionnaire, and then analyzed by exploratory questionnaire data on pre trial, excluding items not appropriate, and finally constructs the formal competency model.The study of construction and validation of electric power system with six key staff competency model, enriches the theoretical system of competency research, expands the competency research field. The conclusion of this study provides empirical evidence for EHV Transmission Department of six key posts of staff recruitment, selection, training, performance management, which has important application value.
