This paper is a practical translation report, selected from Research on Physiology and Zoology of Crops. Translation is a special communicative behavior and in the perspective of Adaptation Theory, it’s a process of making continuous linguistic choices by translators with various degrees of consciousness to meet the needs of communicative activities. Contextual correlates of adaptability and structural objects of adaptability are the main contents of Adaption. This paper attempts to make a proper choice to adapt linguistic structures of target language and readers’ physical world, social world and mental world. Continuous selection and adaptation make the target text (TT) clear, fluent and faithful to the source text (ST), which will be beneficial to the transfer of agricultural science and technology information.This report consists of four sections. The first part introduces the background, contents, context characters and translation process of this translation program. The second part is the connected theory, clarifying the major contents overview of Adaption Theory. The third part analyzes how to use translation methods to achieve structural objects of adaptability and contextual correlates of adaptability with the comparison of ST and TT. The end of this paper summarizes the experience, lessons and theoretical enlightenments in translation.
