School of western ecological ethics is an important content of the sustainable development of environment, so making an objective study on ancient, resent and modern ecological ethics school is an urgent need to interpret the western ecological ethics school. From the development of anthropocentrism and non anthropocentrism in each period, this paper understand their developing process as keeping pace with the times, and use process philosophy to make analysis, which has theoretical significance for the understanding of western ecological ethics school and the construction and improvement of ecological philosophy.First of all, the ancient Greece is the source of anthropocentrism. Beacuse of the ancient Greek’s incomplete belief in God, the geocentricism of Aristotle and Ptolemy in the view of the Universe, and natural teleology view centering on human interests, the anthropocentrism appeared;Ancient Rome is the development clue of extreme anthropocentrism, in ancient Rome period only ruler was regarded as human beings, and the subject of all activities. The Ancient Roman’s warrior, advocating force, bloody contributed to the development of extreme Anthropocentrism; in the phase of the Middle Ages, Anthropocentrism researchers not only furtherly consolidated the center position of human by using divinity teleology, but also stressed that in the Christian tradition people occupied the highest position, even nature was also regarded as human’s available resources. Based on the ancient Greek’s "geocentricism", the medieval times put on mysterious religious facade for anthropocentrism.Secondly, in recent times, the emergence of non anthropocentrism altered the situation of anthropocentric ruling all the land. The new thoughts, new ideas and "the discovery of man" of the Renaissance all urge human’s central role further solidified. In the stage of Industrial Revolution, depending on the power of science and technology, human beings abused this power irrationally, and was conquering naturally constantly, transforming naturally to certify this subjective right, which lead to the extreme development of anthropocentrism, and stimulated the appearance of non anthropocentrism sound. People began to yearn for the quiet idyllic life, longing for natural ecology, hence there was a change from arcadianism to the ecological holism. Finally, in modern times, because the environmental crisis, various schools of ecological ethics were arising and had vigorous development, they also exist in the real world after a long time. With the theory of process philosophy to analyze modern western ecological ethics school, based on the analysis of modern anthropocentrism and non anthropocentrism in subject, rationality, value, community and other dimensions, and the reality analysis of anthropocentrism and non anthropocentrism, it’s beneficial to us towards ecological ethics of ecological era, and provides theoretical support and practical basis for the great work-tending to ecological era, we are currently facing.
