The Phonetic Study Of Liji Jishuo(《礼记集说》) Written By Chen Hao(陈澔)

Chen Hao(陈澔)wrote the book Lijijishuo(《礼记集说》)on the basis of summing up the viewpoints of predecessors and adding his own opinions.Because of using plain language to explain esoteric scriptures,Lijijishuo(《礼记集说》)became the introductory book for beginners to learn Liji(《礼记》),the book became the reference book of the Imperial Examination in Ming Dynasty.Currently,Academic research on Lijijishuo(《礼记集说》)mainly involves the author,version,the ways and features of explaining the scriptures,the thought of suspecting and changing scriptures,the influence and value evaluation,but there is no research on the phonetic of Lijijishuo(《礼记集说》).This paper study the phonetic of Lijijizhuo(《礼记集说》)from the perspective of the history of Chinese language and in order to study the phenomenon of phonetic change during the end of Song Dynasty and the beginning of Yuan Dynasty.Lijijishuo(《礼记集说》)has 2596 pieces of phonetic materials.And after taking the reiteration materials away,we get 1272 pieces of phonetic materials.Dissection and phonetic notes comparation are the method used in this thesis.On the basis of establishing Chen’s standards of selecting the phonetic notes,we compare the phonetic notes of Lijijishuo(《礼记集说》)with the phonetic notes of Jingdianshiwen(《经典释文》)Guangyun(《广韵》)Jiyun(《集韵》)Shijizhuan(《诗集传》)and Yilijingzhuantongjie(《仪礼经传通解》)to peel the same phonetic notes away to get the real Chen’s phonetic notes.We focus on the analysis of Chen’s phonetic notes,reflecting the consonants,vowels and tones of voice evolution phenomenon.This thesis has five chapters :Chapter One:Introduce the general situation and previous research results of Lijijizhuo(《礼记集说》)and the reseach significance,ideas,methods of this paper.Chapter Two:The same phonetic notes and the phonetic notes with same phonological status between Lijijishuo(《礼记集说》)and Jingdianshiwen(《经典释文》).Chapter Three: The same phonetic notes and the phonetic notes with samephonological status between Lijijishuo(《礼记集说》)with Guangyun(《广韵》)Jiyun(《集韵》)Shijizhuan(《诗集传》)and Yilijingzhuantongjie(《仪礼经传通解》).Chapter Four: The study of the Chen’s phonetic notes.Chapter five : Conclusion.By investigating 108 The Chen’s phonetic notes,we conclude the following two aspects of the research results:the evolution phenomenon and law of common language that The Chen’s phonetic notes reflect during the end of Song Dynasty and the beginning of Yuan Dynasty.The stressed and unstressed labial sounds have been distinguished,the initial consonant Fei(非)combined with Fu(敷)and Feng(奉)close to them,the initial consonant Chuan(船)and Shan(禅)mixed,Yu three(喻三)combined with Yu four(喻四)into initial consonant Yu(喻),the initial consonant Ying(影)combined with Yu(喻),the initial consonant Yi(疑)began to to become zero initial,the rhyme Zhi(支)combined with Zhi(脂)and Zhi(之),the rhyme Qi(齐)Ji(祭)and Fei(废)merged into rhyme group of Zhi(止),glottal sound and guttural sound in the rhyme of Yuan(元)mixed with the rhyme of Xian(仙),the rhyme group of Geng(梗)and Zeng(曾)mixed,Shan(山)which is–m rhyme tail and Xian(�'�)which is–n rhyme tail mixed,entering finals mixing between the same rhyme tail,entering finals mix with nasal rhythm on the condition of having the same main vowel,voiced Shang(上)tone changing to Qu(去)tone.These phonetic evolution phenomenons exist in other literatures,we can use to confirm former scholars’conclusions.The Chen’s phonetic notes reflect Gan dialects,especially the characteristics of Gan dialects in north.The initial consonant groups of Zhi three(知三)and Zhang(章)are turned into one group,the initial consonant groups of Zhuang(庄)and Jing(精)are turned into one group,the characteristics of devoicing,the initial consonant Tou(透)and Ni(泥)mixed,the initial consonant Ying(影)and Qun(群)mixed,These phonetic evolution phenomenons can provide reliable materials for the research on the history of Gan dialect language.The innovation of this article:It’s the first time to study Lijijishuo(《礼记集说》)from the view of the perspective of the history of Chinese language and make up the blank of research in phonology studies.It’s also the first time to study phonetic notes on the basis of establishing writter’s standards of selecting the phonetic notes which can provide the view of thinking about problems and the pattern of solving problems in the study of phonetic evolution phenomenons and laws in a certain historical period with the help of the phonetic notations.At the end of this paper,three appendixes,the source of the Chen’s phonetic notes in Lijijishuo(《礼记集说》)and the Medieval phonology status of the Chen’s phonetic notes,the print error of Lijijishuo(《礼记集说》)finished by Wan Jiufu(万久富),the phonetic notes only shown in Lijijishuo(《礼记集说》)finished by Wan Jiufu(万久富),are added for readers to pull out.
