As a tonal language, Chinese Tone plays an important role in Chinese language. It is different from the non- tonal language, the most important role of Chinese Tone is distinguish meaning. For foreign students from non- tone countries such as the United States and Japan, the tone acquisition is a major obstacle in the study of Chinese pronunciation.In this thesis, the whole research is spread of how to learn Chinese Tone. The author picks out some primary level of Chinese learners from the United States and Japan as the research object. The author according to the readers pronunciation to analyze the details of their tone bias. By the comparison between sampling and mandarin, author did the further exploration to analysis the United States and Japan student pronunciation biases in the tones of single syllable and double syllable words. Author hope that through this research and analysis to find the reasons of American and Japan learners tone bias in order to give some useful suggestions in tones of Chinese as a foreign language teaching.This thesis can be divided into five parts. At first, the author described the Chinese tones language background, Chinese tone ontology research review and Chinese tone teaching research was included. And then, the author introduced the research object and method. At the first part of the text the author introduced the theoretical basis of this thesis, it is the analysis of partial bias and the description of the tone bias. The second part discussed the United States and Japanese student tones learning bias of sampling syllable. Especially, the author discussed the United States and Japan learners tone bias in monosyllabic words and disyllabic words. In the third part the author did some details analysis on the reasons of the bias in the characteristics of Chinese tones, negative transfer of mother tongue learning strategies and so on. In the last part, according to the analysis of the results in the sample survey, this article puts forward some suggestions on Teaching Chinese as a foreign language for help the learners who comes from Non-tonal language countries such as Americans and Japanese to grasp the pronunciation skills.
