Report On The Translation Of Excerpts Of Made In China 2025 Strategy

Since the Reform and Opening-up, China’s economy has achieved rapid development. With the increasing international communication and cooperation, the translation in the field of manufacturing provides an irreplaceable access to a full understanding of manufacturing in China. Made in China 2025 Strategy, released by the State Council, is composed of four parts which introduce the background of development atmosphere home and abroad, the guiding thoughts of upgrading manufacturing, basic principles and aims. Through the innovation-oriented, intellectual development, green development and other measures, this document is designed to transform China from a manufacturing giant into a manufacturing power. Thereby, it is a formal document with economic policies and guidelines of the manufacturing development in China, providing a significant access to the world with rich materials about the future of China’s manufacturing.This report is on the translation of excerpts of Made in China 2025 Strategy. It includes five parts: introduction of this report, task description, translation process, case analysis and conclusion. The part of case analysis, as the essential component of this report, is analyzed at lexical level, syntactic level and discourse level.Owing to the distinctness in culture and language and the features of the document, however, it is not easy to translate the document in a perfect way due to the typical characteristics of Chinese language. By employing the communicative translation method and other translation skills, the author proposes translation strategies to tackle the issues such as the abbreviated words, four-character words and sentence with long and complex attribute so as to make the target text natural and smooth. It is hoped that this report is conducive to publicize Chinese economic policies.Based on the report, three conclusions are made as follows: first, the economic policies text features serious style and large amount of information; second, the communicative translation theory and other translation methods are helpful to keep the consistency of such text and transfer the information thoroughly; third, this report is expected to offer some referential value for the other translators who make translation and research on the similar types.
