| In recent years, by the revelation that domestic and foreign literature “break through barriers†and the inherent demand of cultural harmony and the nation communication, studies of ethnic literature, have gradually come into the mainstream. In such circumstances, many excellent national literary translations emerged., In 2011, the expert Ike Parr Handle on the Hisam jokes published its writing, Studies of the Hisam jokes, which thoroughly studies the Hisam jokes. Through the writings of the vivid descriptions, the readers can well understand the uyghurs’ living custom, cultural beliefs and some other interesting information. Studies of the Hisam joke were translated into Chinese in 2015. During the translation, the translator well solved some problems in the translation practice by taking a comprehensive consideration of the history, culture, religion and some other important factors from the source language and choosing the proper translation methods and skills under the guidance of the translation theories knowledge. This makes the translation fluent, smooth and beautiful, and easier to read and understand.This paper takes the Chinese translation of Studies of the Hisam jokes as an example and mainly discusses the basic translation skills and methods, and also analyses the translation book from different perspectives. By analyzing the translation skills, summarizing the advantages and disadvantages, this paper is trying to know better and use better translation skills, learn the successful experience and improve its own disadvantages, and to further improve the acknowledge of the translation skills and proficient using.This paper is divided into five parts, the first part is the introduction, mainly discusses the present research situation, the research purpose and significance, research methods and the perspectives of the paper. The second part summarizes the Chinese translation of the Studies of Hisam jokes in a brief overview, which includes the Hisam and Hisam jokes, background of the Chinese translation of Studies of the Hisam jokes and the content of the Chinese translation. The third part introduces the Translation methods of the Studies of the Hisam jokes, mainly includes transliteration, literal translation, liberal translation, amplification and omission. The fourth part mainly focuses on discussing and analyzing the Chinese translation. Firstly analyzes the advantages of the Chinese translation of Studies of the Hisam joke, and then puts forward some problems existing in the Studies of the Hisam jokes, at last proposes some solutions to the problems. The last part is the conclusion, mainly summarize the important points on the above, and points out the innovation and deficiency of this paper. |
