An Analysis Of Interpreting Anxiety And Methods To Overcome It

The interpretation practice was to discuss the cooperation with Victory Chrisitian School of United States. The author mainly provided consecutive interpretation in the process of negotiating. During the negotiations, the two sides exchanged in terms of the purposes, conditions and the future development direction of the cooperation.Because of its characteristics, business interpretation is different from common interpreting, especially in a number of important issues. If the interpreter convey the wrong message, it will cause a great loss to both sides, so it emphasis on the accuracy especially. It not only requires the professional skills of interpreter, also need the interpreter have good psychological quality.In the process of interpreting, the author found that the interpreter beardbore a lot of psychological stress because of the business interpretation characteristics. Now most theory of interpretation study still focuses on the interpretation skills, while little attention is paid to the psychological research of the interpreter. Therefore, this paper, combined with the performance of interpreter in the interpretation, explored deeply the reasons for the anxiety of interpretation, and provided corresponding strategies based on the practical experience. The interpreter can ease the interpretation pressure by improving the interpretation skills, strengthening the Preparation and other methods, so as to better finish the interpretation work.The innovation of this paper lies in discussing interpretation anxiety with the practice experience, and exploring the control of the anxiety level and coping strategies of interpretation, putting forward a series of feasible suggestions.
