A Report On The Interpretation Of Successful Business Model In The New Economic Era Of Enlarged Health

This is a report on the interpreting practice of the impromptu speech of Successful Business Model in the New Economic Era of Enlarged Health by Peng Cuo,founder of Enlarged Health Conscience Industry Alliance.The speaker mainly talked about the present problems of Chinese products in the new economic era of enlarged health and then made an overall analysis of current marketing situation in China.After that,he expressed his opinions about improving products' quality and solving current problems and then offered some reasonable suggestions on the new business models.During this mock consecutive interpretation practice,the interpreter found out that the speech,as an impromptu one,was highly colloquial.The problems of incompleteness in structure,semantic voids,repeated words and sentences,information redundancy and logic caused great difficulties to the interpreter.Considering the features of the material and the differences between Chinese and English cultural backgrounds,the interpreter mainly adopted three interpreting strategies:the interpreter adopted the strategy of addition to supplement the sentence elements and cultural background.The strategy of omission was applied to simplify the sentence pattern and lay stress on the main ideas and finally address the problems of redundancy.To deal with the loosely organized short sentences,the interpreter adopted the strategy of combination.Finally,after simulating the Chinese-English consecutive interpretation,the author summed up and reflected on the practice,summarized some experience and lessons.And the author hopes that the harvest of this practice report can provide the author and other interpreters with some inspirations and reference.
