The report is an English to Chinese translation project. The selected text is Touring the Frontier: Reinventing the Eastern Adriatic for Tourism, which is the second chapter of Culture and Society in Tourism Contexts, and the translated text is around 10.500 Chinese characters. This report aims at summarizing the process of the project and analyzing how to meet different readers’needs through translation skills.In the report, the translation process is divided into pre-translation. case analysis and post-translation. In the pre-translation part, the reporter reads the original text firstly, understand the main idea, characteristics and expression style of it, and searches relevant information to get a term list. In the second part, the reporter analyzes the translation strategies, including the literal translation, free translation, annotation and split method and auxiliary of pictures and text, etc. In the last part, the reporter revises the first draft many times, and gives it to peers and superviser. Furthermore, the reporter sums up the problems in the process of translation and accumulates the translation experience of such a text and related terms in the later translation practice.Through the implementation of the translation project, the translator should pay more attention to all aspects of the project, take advantage of the online resources and translation tools and apply different skills for different versions.
