The material of the translation report was chosen from the third chapter of the book Understanding Cross-Cultural Management written by the senior lecturers Marie-Joelle Browaeys and Roger Price of Nyenrode Business University. The book is the textbook of economy and management specialty.The translation report consists of four parts as follows: task description, translation procedure, case study and summary. Task description includes the source and the significance of the material to be translated, the introduction to its author and its main content. Translation procedure examines the pre-translation preparation activities as well as difficulties during the translation. Review, polish and finalization are also included in this part. In the course of translation, the translator has read the material repeatedly and outlined its characteristics. After consulting the book of economy and management specialty and the history of the various countries and regions, the translator has been doing intensive reading on the material. As far as the translation method is concerned, the translator has mainly adopted literal translation and free translation. Various kinds of translation tools have also been used during the practice.Furthermore, the translator has revised the translation and written the case study, which is the core part of the translation report. In this part, the translator has mainly analyzed the translation process and translation skills from the following three aspects of vocabulary, syntax and culture. Finally, the translator has made a summary of the translation practice, which reflects the translator’s experience, gains and weaknesses.
