Interpreting is a cross-language, cross-culture and cross-society communication, which has been accepted as an important profession. Successful complement of the interpreting practice not only depends on the excellent command of professional skills of the interpreters, but also hindered by the interpreting scene and physical and psychological status of the interpreters. In this case, interpreting is much more challenging than translation, which needs higher qualifications of the interpreters. However, theoretical researches made in the interpreting are much less than that of translation. The interpreting is badly in need of theoretical guidance.Founded by Selescovitch, a French translation and interpreting theorist, Interpretive Theory is the first complete interpreting theory system. Interpretive Theory is also known as the theory of sense, which insists that the interpreting is a communicative act and the purpose of interpreting is to convey sense. Therefore, the interpreters are required to achieve the sense equivalence rather than the equivalence of linguistic form. The theories of the Paris School provide theoretical foundation for the interpreting practice as well as interpreter training. For now, there are already many researches on the application of Interpretive Theory to the conference interpreting. However, the researches are restricted to the conference interpreting, from which the materials collected and examples analyzed are limited. So, few of the studies can be applied as a guideline for interpreting of other fields, and few interpreters can benefit. With the rapid development of all walks of life nowadays, there should be an in-depth research into interpreting in order to provide sufficient theoretical guidance for interpreters of every walk of life. The purpose of this thesis is to study the information reorganization in the process of interpreting under the guidance of Interpretive Theory. Firstly, it gives detailed information about the research status, key concepts, triangular model as well as interpreting process of Interpretive Theory, which explicates the feasibility of the theory being applied to information reorganization in interpreting. Then effective interpreting strategies are put forward and analyzed with examples respectively at the word level, the sentence level and the discourse level. Finally, it summarizes this thesis. This thesis consists of five chapters all together. The first chapter is an introduction of the research background, research significance and thesis structure. The second chapter is literature review which introduces the relevant researches home and abroad. Chapter three is the theoretical framework about the key concepts, interpreting process and the triangular model of Interpretive Theory. This chapter mainly elaborates the interpreting process and triangular model, namely comprehension, de-verbalization and re-expression, which, together with the previous chapter, paves the way for further researches of this thesis. Chapter five analyzes the reorganization in interpreting from the respective of Interpretive Theory, and puts forward effective strategies respectively at the word level, the sentence level and the discourse. The last chapter makes a conclusion of this thesis about the findings, limitations as well as suggestions for future studies.Through systematic researches on Interpretive Theory, this thesis not only breaks though the researches on Interpretive Theory in conference interpreting, but also discusses the interpreting strategies by combining Interpretive Theory together with information reorganization. It analyzes the interpreting process of Interpretive Theory from a new angle, and put forward information reorganization strategies from the respective from Interpretive Theory, which proves the significance of its guidance in interpreting. Achievements made in this thesis can give some implications for future studies, while there are still some limitations which need further exploration.
