Difficulties And Countermeasures Of Speech Interpreting Under Gill's Interpreting Mode

With the deepening of world's globalization,Sino-US relationship is getting closer.Public speeches of the President of The United States which is the world's most powerful country and the largest economic entity are important parts of American politics.They reflect the political,economic and cultural situations of the United States.This report takes the US former President Barack Obama's resignation speech in 2017 as a practicing material.The author analyzes the characteristics of the speech and the difficulties which are linguistic knowledge barrier,extra-linguistic knowledge barrier and capacity distribution barrier in interpreting the speech.On the basis of Gile Daniel's theory for interpretation,the author also brings about corresponding strategies which are interpretive translation,sentence reconstruction as well as amplification and repetition for linguistic knowledge barrier,enhancement of extra-linguistic knowledge reserve by corpus and search engines,sense-groups memorizing and note-taking analysis for capacity distribution barrier.This report puts emphasis on the analysis of the difficulties and the coping strategies for the speech in order to reduce the stress and improve comprehension during the interpretation.
