Project Report On The Consecutive Interpreting For China-ASEAN Technology Manager International Training

China-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Technology Manager International Training is organized by the International Cooperation Department of Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China. The China-ASEAN Technology Transfer Center aims to train a group of students with basic theory and experience about technology transfer to promote the science exchange and technology transfer between China and ASEAN countries. The author was an interpreter in this activity, therefore this report will take the conference as a good case and give a comprehensive analysis.There are four chapters in the report. The first chapter includes a task description where the author will introduce the detail of the task and the purpose of writing this report. The second chapter is pre-interpreting preparation mainly about the background information, terminology and translation. The third chapter describes the actual case study and includes extractions of typical difficulties during on-the-spot interpreting. Relevant tactics according to Gile’s Effort Models and the interpretive theory after analysis will be included. The final chapter includes the self-evaluation, conclusion and thoughts about the opportunity for interpretation.
