Climactic compound sentence is an important category of Chinese compound sentences system. The sentence which has conjunctive words is called marked climactic compound sentence. On the basis of Chinese corpus in medieval times, the thesis aims to study marked climactic compound sentence from the perspective of syntactic structure,semantic feature and pragmatic function.In the introduction part, the author introduces the meaning of marked climactic compound sentence, summarize the research situation, states the research objects and methods of the thesis.According to the relational marks and semantic relationships, the text part divideds the Marked Climactic Compound Sentences in Medieval Chinese into three categories. In the aspect of syntactic structure, the thesis illustrates the different kinds of sentence patterns, and analyses their characteristics and usage. In the aspect of semantic feature, the thesis expounds the six logic bases, logical formula, semantic features successively. In the aspect of pragmatic function, the thesis mainly elaborates the four types of tone,grammatical cohesion and the "subjective" issue when organizes discourse. In the aspect of historical comparison, the thesis compares marked climactic compound sentences with medieval Chinese and pre-Qin Chinese and modern Chinese, which can help us investigate the development of conjunctive words and usage.The conclusion part is a summary and sublimation of the entire thesis. In this part, the author indicates that marked climactic compound sentence in medieval Chinese tends to be complete in the aspects of syntactic structure, semantic feature and pragmatic function, and it has established the development pattern for marked climactic compound sentence in modern Chinese.
