Self acceptance is an important part of self consciousness, which is to accept the objective and true self.Self acceptance contains two aspects of meaning:one is to recognize his body, ability, quality, fame and every part of objective existence and positive value, not because of their own advantages, strengths and achievements become arrogant; the second is to be able to face up to and actively face all the content related to self, not to deny their own value because of their own defects or deficiencies.Secondary vocational school students are in a critical stage of the formation of self consciousness, their degree of self acceptance for their social adaptability, mental health, personality and other aspects are of great significance.In order to know the vocational students’ self acceptance, and discuss the influence of group psychological counseling on improving vocational students self acceptance level effect, this study adopts self acceptance questionnaire SAQ random survey of the 500 Yunnan Province Water Conservancy & Hydropower school vocational school students. The results show that the school of vocational students self acceptance situation, and the degree of similarities and differences of different demographic factors between self acceptance.In experimental intervention, preliminary screening self acceptance level is low and comparable levels of students self acceptance by the amount of SAQ table, through interviews and observation method selected to increase self acceptance and want to understand the student’s self,will eventually students were separated into the intervenient group and the contrast group with 20 cases in each group, the time span of eight weeks, once a week, group counseling program consists of eight parts, using a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods to evaluate the effect of group counseling, is intended to explore the group counseling to improve vocational school students’ self acceptance level of influence and role. Research results show that: 1 The level of self acceptance and each factor scores were significantly improved in the intervention group before and after the group counseling. 2 In the control group, there was no significant change in the level of self acceptance before and after the group counseling. 3 The control group and the intervention group before and after the group psychological counseling, self acceptance level and the factor scores were not significantly different, the two groups before the group counseling belong to homogeneous groups. 4 The intervention group after group counseling self acceptance level and every factor score than the control group has significantly increased, and reached a significant level, the intervention group of self acceptance factor and self acceptance scores have reached a higher level.Finally, on the basis of summarizing the experience, the author puts forward some personal opinions on how to improve the level of self acceptance of secondary vocational school students.
