Research On Korean Chinese Character Words

Vocabulary, as one of the three elements of language, playing an important role in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Compared to other countries, teaching Chinese vocabulary for South Koreans has its particularity. More than half modern Korean vocabulary are Chinese character words, but Chinese and Korean belong to different language families, they have inherent difference in many aspects, such as the structure of language. Over time and social changes and other factors, many Korean Chinese character words experienced great changes, which originally same as Chinese words inform or meaning, and these will easily produce negative transfer function in the process of South Korean students learning Chinese vocabulary.Now, Chinese and Korean language contrast research is still relatively weak, at the same time, the number of South Korean students came to China to learn Chinese is great. So, comparing the Korean Chinese character words to modern Chinese words and find the similarities and differences, analyzing the South Korean students’ errors which because of the influence of Chinese character words, and finding the way to teach these words is of great significance for Chinese vocabulary teaching to South Korean students.This thesis is mainly divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction. Mainly introduced this topic‘s research background and object, the research status, research purpose, research methods.The second part mainly introduced the formation and development of Korean Chinese character words, clear the definition and sources of Korean Chinese words,clarify its development condition.The third part is the contrast and analysis about the words which has same form in Chinese and Korean, explore the difference in form, meaning, nature between them.The fourth part is the contrast and analysis about the word which has different form in Chinese and Korean.The fifth part is the research on the South Korean students’ errors which causedby Korean Chinese character words when they study Chinese vocabulary, and teaching method research for the errors caused by the Korean Chinese character words.The seventh part is conclusion. To summarize the full paper and put forward my own shortcomings.I hope this paper can for some supplementary about the Chinese and Korean vocabulary comparison study and South Korean students’ related Chinese vocabulary errors study, at the same time, provide a material for reference to our Chinese teachers to Korea.
