In recent years, with the development of the tourism industry in China, more and more foreign visitors come to China. It is very important to improve the quality of tour guide presentation for the development of tourism industry. So, the research on the translation of tour guide presentation has great significance.This report aims at discussing the C-E translation of tour guide presentation under the guidance of Skopostheorie and functional equivalence. The Skopostheorie points out that the purpose of the translation determined the whole translation process. The purpose of the translation for tour guide presentation aims at promoting foreign tourists’ understanding of China and its culture by means of tour guide presentation. Based on this purpose, the translation principles are: 1) tourist-oriented rule. 2) culture-oriented rule.This report discussed the preparation and revision during the translation process, as well as the application of the Skopostheorie and functional equivalence on the translation of tour guide presentation. The first part, the background and significance of the translation task along with the theme and style of the source text was discussed. The second part introduces the whole translation process, including the preparation, translation strategies and revision. The third listed the problems during the translation and the translation strategies under the guidance of Skopostheorie and functional equivalence. The last part gives a conclusion for the report, which proposes the findings and limitations of the research and gives some suggestions for further research. |
