| This report is based on the AWS D1.1 Steel Structural Welding Code Explanation Conference. AWS D1.1 is the welding specification which is formulated by AWS(American Welding Society) for all structures of usual used carbon steel and low alloy steel and now it has been the guiding specification all around the world after eighty years‘ updating. In September, 2013, the Lincoln Electric invited the experts from AWS committee to the explanation conference with the purpose of explaining and discussing steel structure welding, AWS D1.1 steel structural welding code, and so on.In this report, the author analyzes and illustrates main issues in the process of interpretation, which consists of the task-description part, the process-description part and case analysis to enable readers to understand more clearly about the interpretation practice. In the task-description part, the author analyzes background, main contents and significance of the project; In the process-description part, the author illustrate s preparations before interpreting and the interpretation method called ?Effort Model‘; In the case analysis part, the author uses words and sentences quoted from the conference as examples to discuss how to translate long sentences and welding terminology as well as how to process fuzzy information. |
