The paper comparatively analyzed the overall arrangement, phonetics,character, texts, vocabulary, grammar, exercises, culture and other aspects of the two textbooks edited by the same editor and published by the same press. In some way this paper makes up the gap that the researches in the past were not comprehensive and not objective to some extent.Textbook writers attaches the importance of teaching guiding ideology on the concept, but the idea is not necessarily fully reflected in practice, so in order to understand the depth of textbooks in use as well as user satisfaction of the textbooks to do more objective comparison, the paper comprehended the current application situation of the two textbooks by conducting questionnaire and interview to teachers and students who used or using the two textbooks The teachers and students comes from Xinjiang University, Xinjiang Normal University, Xinjiang Agricultural University, and Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics. Besides, The paper also discovered merits and demerits of the two textbooks in the way of combining the findings of static text analysis and dynamic investigation, as well as raised some thinking of improving textbooks.By comparison, the paper found that the two textbooks were closer in structure, they are worthy of learning from each other; In the aspect of Chinese characters, the paraphrase method for Chinese characters in "New Practical Chinese Reader" is worth learning. In the aspect of texts, this paper mainly discusses the theme, genre, length, difficulty, and language normative, after comparison the paper found that the fourth book of the "Chinese University ?Intensive" has a large span between the first three volumes and itself, thus leading to the big jumps of the amount of vocabulary and exercises.In the aspect of vocabulary,this paper focuses on the quantity, grade, repetition, translation and arrangement of vocabulary, and finds that the way for "New Practical Chinese Reader" to separate new words is worth learning, as well as the way that "Chinese University ? Intensive" indirectly makes up the weakness of new words arrangement is also valuable; but there are also some disadvantages of "Chinese University ? Intensive"-- the vocabulary of the fourth volume is not ideal, the interval between the repeated words is big, the translation way for words is simplex, super-class words of the higher rand of the book are too many. In the aspect of culture, the comparative cultural content between Chinese and foreign countries in "New Practical Chinese Reader" and the minority-relative cultural content in "Chinese University ? Intensive" accounted for very little.
