Study On The Questions Of Contemporary Chinese Women’s Political Participation

Women as half of human beings, constitute our society and create human civilizationwith men, so women has made great contributions to promote social development. But, in theChinese history, due to the influence of the feudal autocracy, women don’t get respect insteadof a male accessory. Along with the progress of the society, women awake consciousnessabout rights, and they fight for their rights and higher social status actively. The status ofwomen is the core of women’s rights, and the most essential, the most realistic reflect ofwomen’s status is the level of women’s political participation. Women’s political participationhas vital significance. Women’s political participation is the important way of womendevelopment, political participation is the necessary conditions of expressing women’sopinion and considering women’s asking. Women only can really to express their own needs,and in this way they can truly improve social status and get a better development. Women’spolitical participation is the requirement of the scientific concept of development. Women’sdevelopment is the indispensable and important content of the whole society’s sustainabledevelopment. Women’s political participation has positive significance on the construction ofa harmonious society, because society formed by women and men, then we must realize thebalance between men and women if we want to build a socialist harmonious society. Women’spolitical participation is the important condition of realizing socialist democracy. Women’spolitical participation not only can let women realize their own value, it’s more importantmeaning is women’s political participation can form a relationship of interacting、promotingeach other and helping each other with men, and this interactive relationship can push thedevelopment of socialist democracy.This paper makes people to understand the concepts and meaning of women’sparticipation in politics. And it describes the history and current situation of women’sparticipation in politics in order to make people review the history, base on the now and lookto the future. This paper summarizes the effect on women’s participation in politics, frompolitical factor, economic factor, the cultural factors and social factors. Finally this paper mainly puts forward several suggestions for improving women’s political participation fromthe various aspects, including perfecting legislation, political security, economic construction,promote advanced gender culture, etc.
