The Research On The Community Service For The Aged In Jiangxi Province

Along with the rapid aging of population, old-age insurance system is closelyrelated to the nation’s economy, the people’s livelihood, the construction of aharmonious society and sustainable development. Since the reform and opening up inChina, the economy of Jiangxi Province has developed rapidly. However, the growingaging of population is overwhelming the basic economic conditions. How to solve theold-age problems and worries has become a hot issue in Jiangxi Province, which isneeded to be settled soon. As the aged are gradually failing to be provided good caresin their families, the traditional prototype can not work well under the great pressureof the population aging. On the one hand, most of the old refuse to spend their lastyears in a geracomium. On the other hand, geracomiums can hardly develop due tothe limits of system or fund. Therefore, the mode of community service for the aged isa better choice to solve the problem.The present paper includes six parts: firstly, the background, aims, thesignificance of the research and the current status of community service for the agedat home and abroad will be discussed; secondly, the related concepts and the theoreticknowledge will be reviewed; thirdly, there is a survey on the current communityservice for the aged in Jiangxi Province, including the population aging, the policies,measures and results of community service development for the aged, and theinvestigation and analysis of the current community conditions of the elderly inJiangxi Province; fourthly, we will analyze the problems existing in the communityservice for the aged in Jiangxi Province; fifthly, we try to set up a strategy and somesolutions to deal with the above problems; the last part is the conclusion. It concludesthe results and shortages of the research.
