The Research On The Influence Of New Generation Migrant Worker’s Political Self-efficacy On Political Participation

In our country, the new generation of migrant workers as a group of special andlarge groups, their identity is special, but they have made great contributions to socialdevelopment. Especially as an important power of urbanization in our country, it canrealize the political participation is important guarantee of its smoothly into theurbanization process, it is also an important part in the development ofdemocratization in China. New generation of migrant workers as a common class ofsociety, has their own unique political personality compared with the generation ofmigrant workers. However, in the transformation period, as the new generation ofmigrant workers political participation has been increasing while the participation inthe reality lag is bound to cause its lack of political participation. In order to avoidthe non-institutional political participation behaviors caused by the "vacuum" of thesystem. First of all, we must know something about the new generation of migrantworkers’ political participation situation, especially their sense of political power,namely political self-efficacy, which is needed to be understood deeply on thepolitical psychological characteristics.Political self-efficacy as an important evaluation content of political psychology,is not only a measure of the citizen democracy have corresponding psychologicalorientation, but also an important index to measure the democratic system. Westernscholars believe that through the deduction of the theoretical attitudes and behaviors,it is concluded that political self-efficacy is not only an important factor affecting thepolitical participation, but also lead people to explore the operation mechanism undera democracy system and the significant role in citizens’ political culture.This paperinvestigated to the direction of things development which adhered from politicalscience, sociology theoretical perspective, the author asserts the in-depth fieldresearch, the formation of problem consciousness, and advocates the theoretical logicstarting point to be consistent with the empirical process. This special group oftransformation period of the new generation migrant workers is to be based onobjective reality, and to adhere to the combination of theory and research. Therefore, the author selects the coastal areas of light industry developed and the newgeneration migrant workers concentrated in the region as a typical case in JinjiangCity of Fujian Province by using the methods of questionnaire survey and caseinterview combined. In this paper, the empirical research on the situation of the newgeneration peasant workers’ political self-efficacy and political participation, basingon the analysis of the current situation of the new generation peasant workers’political participation and political self-efficacy, there is a significant correlationbetween political self-efficacy and political participation through the secondaryanalysis. New generation migrant worker’s political self-efficacy is overall low,especially the external political self-efficacy is more obvious, which shows that thenew generation migrant workers are lack of confidence in their political ability, at thesame time, political system’s influence on the individual recognition is on the lowside. By discussing the influence of the political self-efficacy dimensions to variousimplementation path of the new generation peasant workers’ political participation,which shows that promoting political self-efficacy dimensions can boost theenthusiasm of the new generation peasant workers’ political participation. andpromote the continuous improvement of the political system. Therefore, increasingthe efficiency of the new generation peasant workers’ political sense of stock on theirpolitical participation has great theoretical and practical significances. Finally, weshould make targeted path thought from two aspects of the individual sense ofpolitical ability and the response of political system.
